In 2021, I renewed my interest in Ikebana under the creative guidance of my very able teacher, Sandy Marker. During and after every class, waves of energized calm sweep over me.

As a young child, I was introduced to a range of Japanese arts through vacation care classes that included Ikebana, Japanese tea ceremony and Bunka embroidery. These activities started my love affair for the Japanese aesthetics of simplicity, understated beauty and balance through asymmetry.

My creative journey has been with sculpture and 3D art using recycled, reuse and waste industrial material that transformed, with new identities, into biomorphic forms.

Sogetsu Ikebana is definitely the path that will combine and extend my love of 3D form with the added beauty and graceful lines of plants, flowers and branches. I look forward to travelling this path and all that opens up for me.
