Unusual Suiban Oval in Rectangle

From Norman Sparnon’s collection of containers which he used many years ago.
Circa 1965. Disclaimer – there is wear and tear due to age and use.
Very light and possibly made from wood but hard to say. Black semi-gloss finish. Few tiny patches in paint work not really noticeable but could easily be fixed
