Christmas arrangements with a tropical twist

Written by Sandy Marker

The last lesson for the year had a Christmas theme, with a tropical twist. The second part of the theme proved to be harder than first thought because theoretically Sydney is not a tropical zone. If we can grow tropical plants, it’s usually a range of Ginger or Strelitzias, which have both finished flowering.

The Christmas ‘decorations’ were the easy part for most in this lesson, consisting mainly of different sized baubles, ribbon, tiny coloured lights and the odd painted piece of material. Though most arrangement fell short of adding the tropical component it did not stop the great array of ideas and fun arrangements.

The class wishes everyone a safe and joyous Christmas plus a Happy New Year. May 2023 be a year of good health and wonderful adventures with lots of creativity.
