The Hon Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO, former Governor of NSW and Patron of the Society officially opened the 50th Camellia Research Society Show, at Ravenswood School Gordon.

Margaret Hall had the pleasure of showing both The Hon Dame Marie Bashir and Mr. Takawaka, Japanese Consul-General in Sydney through the ASTA exhibit of 18 beautiful arrangements.
This event was Mr. Takawaka’s last official business before he returned to Japan the following day. ASTA members wish Mr. Takawaka well in his new posting and he will be missed very much.

Exciting news for Elizabeth Fuller, wining 2 first places and 2 second places for her entries into the show. My entry ‘Reflecting Wave’ (the camellia ASTA had propagated by Bob Cherry in memory of Norman Sparnon) won champion single exhibit, what a great honor
