Ms Ishikawa adding last touches to Celebration arrangement

Written by Sandy Marker

Sydney hosted a weekend workshop for the accreditation of the new textbook #5, which was released earlier this year. The seminar was followed by an all day workshop.

Sixty-nine delegates from branches around Australia and Wellington New Zealand attended this wonderful event conducted by Ms Ishikawa from the Sogestu School in Tokyo.

Visiting Sydney Flower Markets on a Friday, we selected a plethora of flowers and leaf material to add to the material we collected from Kevin Walpole’s beautiful garden. Ms Ishikawa was delighted to see such as amazing range of material we readily have at our fingertips, often in our own gardens.

Saturday, Ms Ishikawa presented a power point plus demonstrating several themes. This left Sunday free for the delegates to tackle two of the new subjects, Branches- Two compositions and the afternoon workshop theme Celebration Arrangements. Both workshops were challenging, pushing the creative ideas especially being inspired by the previous day.

A special thank you to Ms Ishikawa for the stimulating and encouraging weekend with delegates inspired to embrace Textbook #5 with renewed energy.
