'Nature Intertwining' ASTA Exhibition

Posted: 12 May 2018 ()

The exhibition Nature Intertwining held in the Calyx, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, was officially opened by the Japanese Consul-General Mr Keizo Takewaka, on Sunday 15th April. The theme comes from working fresh plant material in a symbiotic relationship with man-with made materials

The Calyx, a beautiful venue for exhibitions allowing exhibits to be suspended or placed in alcoves, like a Japanese Tokanoma (a built in recessed space in which items of artistic appreciation are displayed). Other exhibits were displayed on plinths, which could easily be viewed through the window, thus getting a 360-degree view of the works.

Twenty of our members, who exhibited hope you enjoyed the exhibition and we look forward to meeting and sharing our love of this beautiful art form, Ikebana.
